Import Strategies from HRC

Holdem Resources Calculator (or HRC for short) is a great tool to create individual preflop strategies suited for your needs. But to actually train those strategies you need a tool like Limp Lab. In this guide we explain how you can import your whole preflop strategy calculated by HRC into Limp Lab to get your muscle memory going.

1. Create a Strategy in HRC

For a complete guide on how to make the most out of HRC, please refer to the HRC documentation.

  1. Open HRC and create a new Monte Carlo Hand (File > New Calculation > Monte Carlo Hand).
  2. Set up your table to fit your scenario.

HRC Table Setup

Note that Limp Lab currently only supports symmetrical stack structures, meaning every player needs to have the same stack size. This will change in the future.

  1. Once you set up your table and blind structure to your liking you can click on Next.
  2. Set up your pre and postflop betting structures as you see fit for the player pool you play against. See the HRC documentation for more on these settings.
  3. Once you are satisfied, click the Finish button.

HRC Preflop Settings

Once HRC finishes its calculation you can now export the strategy.

  1. Click on the hand tab that contains your new strategy.
  2. In the toolbar, got to Hand > Export Strategies.

Export Strategy nodes

  1. Select the nodes you want to export manually or use one of the automated settings in the export settings dropdown.
  2. Once you have selected all the nodes you want to train, click on Ok.
  3. Save the strategy file as a .zip file.
